I want to explain how I extended my Bowden line even further. I’ve found it has been easier to work backwards, so the first step was to import all of Ancestry’s “Potential” parental relationships.

I was then able to make some headway starting with David Ferguson (1775-1858) and Helen Scot (1775-1857). I was able to confirm their relationship to Janet Ferguson (1796-1852) through the birth record on the right.
