This tik tok narrates a brief synopsis of the childhood of my paternal grandma, Eugenie Loscalzo Canning. My grandma passed away when I was 5, so I unfortunately did not get the change to learning about her upbringing from her. With help from my Great Aunt Patti Jo and research on Ancestry, I was able to find out a great deal about her young life and her lineage. My grandma was born and raised in Philadelphia, only 15 miles from Villanova. Learning about the lack of involvement from her father and her mother’s resilience in maintaining the family was really interesting to me.

This project was great in teaching me more about my deep ancestry, but I also found remarkable value in learning a good deal more about my relatives only a few generations from myself.
